RiaPlast — logo for a plastic pipe manufacturer

A manufacturer of plastic pipes and plumbing products came to us for a logo. The name was already in place: RIA, the initials of the three founders, plus the word Plast. Our job was to turn the abbreviation into a mark that tells you what the company does.

LogoBranding

Task:

Abbreviations often end up as a faceless string of letters that means nothing to the buyer. We wanted RiaPlast to read as a brand about pipes and water at first glance, not just three letters and the word “plast”. So we kept the concept close to plumbing: the answer was already in the product itself.

Solution:

We drew two pipes so that together they form the letters RP from the RiaPlast name. The red and blue pipes stand for hot and cold water: the company makes pipes for both. Both ends of each pipe finish with a raised coupling, just like real fittings. The same detail carries into the lettering of the name below the mark. The mark continues across the identity: business cards, letterhead and folder, product packaging and a wavy pattern that recalls water. RiaPlast got more than initials: a mark that shows what flows through the company's pipes.
